  • Quarterly Update

We are pleased to share several important updates at this time.

Local Educational Agency (LEA) Landing Page Launch

The new LEA Landing Page, developed by Groundswell, will launch on August 3, 2026. This enhanced page was showcased at the NAFIS Spring Conference and is designed to improve access and usability for all users.

Impact Aid Grant System (IAGS) Contract Renewal

The Impact Aid Grant System contract was renewed in June 2026 for another five years, with Groundswell continuing as our contractor. There are no changes to the IAGS system or program staff. Please continue to contact your assigned program analyst for technical assistance as needed. Our email addresses remain the same.

Division of Impact Aid Programs (DIAP) Relocation

In August, the DIAP will relocate to the Department of Labor (DOL). The current program staff will remain the same, and the only change is our physical location. The move will not impact your access to IAGS or Impact Aid program staff.

Early Payment Requests for Fiscal Year (FY) 2027

As we prepare for FY 2027, please remember to submit an early payment request through the IAGS if your LEA requires funds before the end of December 2026. Early payment requests are prioritized for LEAs with funding needs prior to this deadline. The button to request an early payment is at the top of the FY 2027 application page; see the user guide for instructions with screenshots: Early Payment Instructions.

Monitoring and Application Tasks

The program office is diligently working to complete all monitoring and application tasks for fiscal year 2027. Please pay close attention to system-generated emails, as they contain important information for your grant application. If you have an outstanding task in IAGS, please respond by the specified deadline. [impactaid.ed.gov]

FY 2027 Payment Goal

Our goal for FY 2027 remains unchanged from the past three years: to make final payments within the same fiscal year. This commitment ensures timely support for your LEA’s needs and reflects our ongoing dedication to efficient grant management.

FY 2026 Impact Aid Discretionary Construction Grant Competition will launch soon.

Please monitor official channels for the Notice Inviting Applications and detailed guidelines.
