Due to a lapse in appropriations, no Impact Aid payments will be processed and the staff are furloughed.  The application deadline for fiscal year 2027 remains February 2, 2026, at 11:59 pm ET. The Impact Aid Grant System (IAGS) will remain accessible to all users with an active account. The Impact Aid staff will not be available during a shutdown to provide technical assistance. On Monday, February 2, 2026, until 6:00 pm ET only the general Impact Aid mailbox at Impact.Aid@ed.gov will be monitored.
