Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 Monitoring Status

Our team continues to make substantial progress as we review documentation for the 226 FY 2026 applications selected for monitoring.  As of today, the team has completed 88% of the initial reviews and 56% of the final reviews.  If you have any questions during this process, please do not hesitate to contact the analyst responsible for monitoring your application for FY 2026 at any time.  Our goal is to finish most final reviews by the end of September.

Impact Aid Best Practices: Survey Methods

Have you reviewed your survey method recently?  The beginning of the school year is a great time to review our training resources and make a plan for collecting your parent-pupil survey forms, source checks, or electronic data. For best results, we suggest you:

• View our on demand video on how to conduct a survey.
• Review our survey resources which include various sample forms.
• Participate in a live, virtual training. The upcoming schedule is listed below and available on our webinar page.
• Reach out to your state analyst, who can recommend the best survey method based on the federally connected children you claim.

Electronic Data Collection (EDC) Pilot for FY 2027 Application

If your local educational agency (LEA) is interested in collecting 7003 survey data online for the first time, and you have not contacted us yet, it is never too early to get started.  You should submit a proposal for the Impact Aid Program to review and approve before sending the survey out to parents the first time. Once approved for the first, “pilot” year, your application will be monitored to ensure that the electronic data collected is auditable and conforms to the program regulations.

Due to the length of time necessary to review and approve proposals, if LEAs want to take part in an EDC pilot for the Impact Aid application due February 2, 2026, you must inform us by December 5, 2025. Any request for proposal received after December 5 will be considered for the FY 2028 application due January 2027.
