Impact Aid Grantees,

This month the Impact Aid program office is focused on closing out all remaining tasks for fiscal year (FY) 2026 as we prepare to make initial payments pending funding October 1. This includes the annual user verification task for core users to ensure your local educational agency (LEA) has the right users in place before the FY 2027 application opens.

Our team is nearing the completion of the review of documentation for the 226 FY 2026 applications selected for monitoring.  As of today, the team has completed 97% of the initial reviews and 79% of the final reviews.  If you have any questions about your monitoring case, please contact the analyst responsible for monitoring your application. Our goal is to finish most reviews by the end of September.

Impact Aid Grant System (IAGS) Updates

New Domain Name Server

The Impact Aid Grant System (IAGS) is updating its Domain Name Server (DNS) to comply with federal security requirements.  If your network is compatible, upon clicking this DNS test link, you will see a page with an Appian logo and a “DNSSEC Test Success” message.

If you do not see the “test success” message, contact your LEA’s Information Technology department.  Once your network administrator whitelists the appianmininggov.com domain on your network, the DNSSEC test page will load properly, and you should experience no issues loading IAGS after the DNS change. Your network team may find these Appian resources helpful.

Annual User Verification Task for Core Users

During the month of October, all LEA core users will receive a task directing them to verify the LEA’s secondary users for system security.  Core users will receive system generated reminders to verify their secondary users until the task is complete.  Our recently updated user management guide includes screenshots to assist with completing this task.

Annual Rules of Behavior

Every user, new or returning, will have to agree to the system’s Rules of Behavior prior to accessing the IAGS.  Once you click on the box to agree with the rules, you will return to the IAGS home page.  Going forward, users need to accept the rules just once per year and IAGS will prompt you when it is time to renew your acceptance.
